PIDACC/NB’s official launch

N'Djamena, Chad's capital city located in the heart of Africa, served as a framework for officially launching the Programme for Integrated Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Niger Basin. It is for the first time in Central Africa that NBA is launching this type of programme in the presence of the users of the basin. The 1st Deputy Mayor of the city of N'Djamena, Mr. Oumar Barkar, thanked NBA for choosing the city of N'Djamena to host the event. The African Development Bank, represented by Mr. Ali Lamine Zéne reiterated his institution's commitment to fight climate change in Niger Basin. The NBA Executive Secretary, Mr. ABDERAHIM Birème Hamid, specified that this programme strengthens NBA's climate change mitigation and adaptation activities. In presiding over the opening ceremony, Mr. Siddick Abdelkrim HAGGARD, Minister of the Environment, Water and Fisheries of the Republic of Chad, NBA’s supervising Minister, appreciated the launch of this integrative programme.
