In recent years, NBA has, with the support of its technical and financial partners, engaged in a proactive modernization of its management. That modernization has resulted in a substantial computerization... (acquiring equipment - computers, printers, scanners, measuring devices, etc.. – and sophisticated computer software; recruiting IT technicians and restructuring its organization chart). NBA’s information system (IS) has evolved a lot since the early 2000s. Today, there are about 111 workstations and a dozen servers. Data collection, processing and dissemination are computerized in almost all the activity areas of the organization (water management, environment, accounting, human resources, Internet communication and messaging, etc…). However, there are many weaknesses in that information system. To overcome them, the Niger Basin Authority has received funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to develop an IT Master Plan (IT MP) by 2016. Â
