Strong mobilization of the populations for WSC/DSR activities |
A team from the PIDACC/NB Niger National Coordination Unit (NCU) conducted an information and awareness campaign in its area of intervention with a view to implementation the sub-projects developed by the beneficiary communities with the support of the technical services of the Environment. This intervention integrates the Strategic Framework for Sustainable Land Management (SF-SLM) in Niger which aims to: "improve sustainable land management to silting food insecurity, improve the resilience of the populations to climate change and increase the performance of Niger's economy" and its Investment Plan 2015-2029. The Niger Basin Authority (NBA) with the technical and financial support of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and its partners financed a large-scale program bringing together its nine (9) Member States entitled " Program Integrated for Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Niger Basin (PIDACC/NB)â.

Communautaire mobilization for the WSC/DSR activites |
The execution of WSC/DSR works which is done through the sub-projects developed by the beneficiary communities with the support of experts from PIDACC-Chad by following the framework and taking gender into account. At the departmental, communal and cantonal level, from where several information/awareness meetings took place with the technical services, the administrative, communal and customary authorities. In addition, village general assemblies were also held with the beneficiary communities of the sub-projects before visiting the selected sites. These activities require a strong involvement of the communities as actors/beneficiaries of the Program in the first two components.

Une batterie de recommandations aux diffĂ©rentes parties prenantes PIDACC/BN vient au secours du programme, suite Ă un dĂ©but de mise en Ćuvre qui est, de maniĂšre gĂ©nĂ©rale  caractĂ©risĂ© par une succession dâĂ©vĂšnements (COVID 19, suspension de dĂ©caissement, dĂ©mission de cadres du Programme, faiblesse dans les communications, conflits de compĂ©tences au niveau de certaines Ă©quipes de mise en Ćuvre, la lourdeur dans le traitement des dossiers soumis Ă certaines instances, etc.) qui ont rendu difficiles la mise en Ćuvre du PIDACC/BN du dĂ©marrage en 2019 Ă 2021.

+132 billion CFA mobilized to save the Niger Basin! |
The PIDACC/NB is a major program for the implementation of the 2016-2024 Operational Plan of the Niger Basin Authority (NBA). The regional launch took place in N'Djamena from May 2nd to 5th, 2019. It constitutes, through the actions planned and the expected impacts, a concrete response for the development of the resilience of the populations and ecosystems as well as the adaptation of the communities and the institutions to climate change in the Niger Basin.

LAUNCHING WORKSHOP FOR THE OPERATIONALIZATION OF THE REGIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION FUND (RCCAF) |
The establishment of a Regional Climate Change Adaptation Fund and the Payment for Environmental Services (RCCAF/PES) Mechanism in the Niger Basin one of the major expected results of the Program Integrated for Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Niger Basin (PIDACC/NB). This fund, which will contribute to the improvement of IWRM in the Niger basin, could be supplied by various sources of financing, including a Payment for Environmental Services system, and would make it possible to compensate for the increase in the portfolio of NBA activities. The Payment for Environmental Services (PES) which is based on the principles of user - pays and polluter â payer registered in the NBA water charter adopted in April 2008. The Ad 'hoc Committee of the Regional climate change and adaptation Fund RCCAF was created by decision N ° 000001/ES/NBA/AFD/L/RC-PIDACC/NB dated January 20th, 2021. This creation follows the resolution N°6 of the 38th session of the council of ministers of the NBA, held on October 11th, 2019 in the conference room of PIMUS hotel in Kaloum from Conakry, Republic of Guinea relating to the establishment of an ad hoc committee of the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Fund and payment mechanisms for environmental services (RCCAF/PES) in the Niger Basin. For its first face-to-face meeting, the Adâhoc committee prepared the following documents: 1.Strategy and mission roadmap; 2.The timing of the mission of the Adâhoc Committee in the countries; 3.The budget for activities during the committee's mission; 4.Terms of reference for advocacy; 5.The of the national workshops reports; 6.The draft newsletter on the first mission of the Ad âhoc Committee in the countries;
